| I think that we should stop giving any recognition to the "Townies" movie. If folks do not like the movie or its premise, ignore it. Let the police handle the work without permits nonsense and hope that the "filmmaker" will become a more responsible citizen. |

| I've been keeping up with the news on the boards and would like to chat with some of you if you have the chance. Email me at twoodman@bostonherald.com. I have some questions about the film and what's been going on. |

I am guessing the "Author" removed it so as not to give the film any attention. See CtownPride's comment above. So no free speech infringements. But I could be totally wrong of course. |

Yes, Melanie removed her comments herself.
When you see a post that says, "Removed by Autor" it means that the author of the post took it upon themselves to delete what they have written. They have that prerogative and I have little control over it. I should fix the spelling error, though.
In the interest of free speech, which I try to uphold with this forum as much as possible, very rarely will I ever exercise my editorial veto powers and censure a post by deleting it. Though I have done it once or twice over the past few years.
One reason why I rarely have to delete a post is because of the very people on this board. This forum's "elder statesmen," if you will, are very good at policing what is said here. If they don't like what you have to say, they are quick to let you know.
So a heartfelt thanks to Charlestown Online's elder statesmen for helping to keep the comments made on this website generally respectful and constructive. If you feel a member of this board ever crosses that line, please don't hesitate to email me at editor@charlestownonline.net.
Thanks.
Sincerely yours,
Editor |
